Well didn't see any young ones utter the line in this film (about 1.50min in)

And

At least three times in American Sniper, Clint Eastwood’s version of the life of Chris Kyle, “the deadliest sniper in American military history,” scriptwriter Jason Hall has a character repeat this maxim for military sharpshooters: “Aim small, miss small. Aim for a button, you’ll hit a shirt. Aim for a shirt, you’ll miss by feet.”

Then again you are most likely on about this one.

So my answer is

Either The Patriot or American Sniper.

That's not the film that used that line first, but I'll give it to you.

The original place it was used was in The Patriot (2000), starring Mel Gibson. He asked his two young sons, as they were about to ambush some British soldiers, if they remembered what he'd told them about shooting. They responded, in unison, "Aim small, miss small." The media was horrified.

The line may have been used again later, but it started in that Gibson film.

Nice job of tracking down that one, Pip. I didn't even recall it being used in that one & I've seen it several times. I'm surprised it didn't strike me.

Forest Gump!

Never watched this one, but I've seen the clips. This one was pretty frequent, along with life being like a box of chocolates...

I don't think too many others have been interested in playing this one for awhile now.

Vince, just go to IMDB, find a movie you like (or not), scroll down to the quotes section & pick a line, or a sentence from a paragraph.

I have hundreds of favorite lines from movies, but I always have to google them first, to make sure I'm precise & that it can indeed be found with google. I've had to pass on quite a few because I couldn't find them with google.
