Wolfram Alpha Image Identification.

Postby Fejinwales » Fri Sep 11, 2015 6:30 pm

Was sent a link to this today. Wolfram Alpha Image Identification Project
Wolfram Alpha has released a beta version of an image identification Project in which you drop a picture of something and it then identifies what it is for you purely from the image. I tried it on a few things, it had none of them exactly right, some of them close and this one of the naked woman, which as you say can't be bad because it has a naked woman on it, it came up with the suggestion they the image was of a Plaster Bandage....

Underneath there are three buttons that the user can then hit depending on how close the identification was. Great, Could be better, Missed the point and What the heck. In this image I hit the 'What the heck?' and it gave me three more of it's closest guesses in blue boxes below, the last of which was 'Primate'.
It is learning so I assume the more people give it a go and correct it the better it will perform. I dropped another image of a nude woman into is today and it said 'Person' so it seems to be working. Try it out.

Hi Easylife, Perhaps I shroud have explained what this thing is....I've corre4cted that now with the following on the first post.
