The True Villain of SUICIDE SQUAD Has Been Revealed

Suicide Squad is packed full of villains. In fact, it will take a team of them to join forces to stop an evil threat. We’ve already learned that one of the villains that Task Force X will be taking on is The Enchantress. There’s even a side story revolving around The Joker who is after Harley Quinn as they are trying to hunt down the witch. There’s even more to the story than that, though. Potential spoilers ahead:
According to ComicBook.com there’s another big villainous threat who will appear in the movie. That villain is being called The Adversary, and there’s not much info on who it is, but it’s apparently not a part of the comics. The character is described as a “Cthulu-type Old Gods monster.” Producer Richard Suckle teased The Adversary like this:
"Oh, you will find out who the Adversary is. That is for sure. You will find out not only who the Adversary is but why they exist, who is part and parcel and who is behind them. You definitely find that out in this movie for sure."
Producer Andy Horwtz added:
"There's multiple adversaries that the Squad has to contend with over the course of the movie of which the Joker is one of them.”
The report goes on to say that due to her magical abilities, The Enchantress is able to get close to The Adversary, “close enough to then be possessed or controlled by him in some way.” As you’ve seen in the trailer, the team will also be fighting those nasty looking soldiers called the "Eyes of the Adversary" throughout the film. It’s explained:
“Those soldiers had their own hint as to the nature of the beast, with patches on their shoulders that said "Escort to Darkness" and showed a tentacle reaching up out of the ground below the writing.”
I don’t have anymore information than that. They are obviously holding back that information for a surprise, which is cool. It’s nice to go into movies not knowing everything!
Suicide Squad hits theaters August 5th, 2016.
