Rita Repulsa apparently isn't playing games in the latest look at the new Power Rangers film! In a photo provided by Entertainment Weekly, we see Rita (played by Elizabeth Banks) choking the life out of Yellow Ranger Trini (played by Becky G):

To set the scene up, this takes place as Rita is trying to intimidate the Power Rangers individually. Becky G spoke about filming the scene with Banks:

"When we did our blocking, our run through, Elizabeth and I really wanted to make it fun, to make this scene as real as possible. Actually, I got to run through the wall a couple of times. I got thrown up against it and I got to break it myself. My stunt double of course was there, talking me through it, but I was really, really excited. It was a bit intimidating for me because, you know, it’s Elizabeth! I look up to her a lot as an actress, so getting to work one on one with her is really cool. I learned a lot, and there were moments when I had to hit her, and I was like, 'Oh my God, I hope I don’t actually hit her!' She really let me be hands on in a lot of the fighting, so it was cool."

Hilariously enough, Becky told Banks not to be gentle with her and ended up with bruises around her neck the next day!

I'm not going to pretend like I remember everything from the original Power Rangers, but I don't remember Rita getting in on the action all that much. From what I remember, she was always making monsters out of clay and looking through a telescope! To be fair, this Rita Repulsa looks like she can kick far more ass than the original, so I'll allow it. I'm really hoping we see something good out of this movie!

All I remember of the Power Rangers is that my kids used to watch the TV Series when they were younger and I believe they liked it. A 2017 movie should be very interesting and most certainly of better quality than in the '90s...

:D

I remember being a kid when this crap first hit the states. I really have absolutely no idea how it has continued for so long.

The Ditto must be that you really have absolutely no idea how it has continued for so long, because it certainly didn't play when you were a kid... :P

Ha, ha, ha. My son was a kid when these came out. Yes, I still don't know how it stayed on this long.

I have never seen it, my daughter was never interested in it so I never had the misfortune of being forced to watch it...

We’ve got a brand new photo from the new Power Rangers movie for you to check out today that features the heroes of the stories wearing their costumes but unmasked. My first thought when I saw the photo was, "Whoa! They look more like the Silverhawks than they do Power Rangers!” I’m not saying that in a bad way, it’s just an observation, and I would love to see the Silverhawks movie get made. Anyway, the costumes look interesting and I’m looking forward to seeing what the characters look like in action. I suspect we’ll get our first look at some footage at Comic-Con later this week.

Saban’s Power Rangers follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late.

The Rangers you see here include Dacre Montgomery as Jason the Red Ranger, RJ Cyler as Billy the Blue Ranger, Naomi Scott as Kimberly the Pink Ranger, Becky G as Trini the Yellow Ranger, and Ludi Lin as Zack the Black Ranger. Elizabeth Banks also stars in the movie as the main villain Rita Repulsa and Bryan Cranston is playing Zordon.

The Power Rangers will jump into action when the movie is released on March 24th, 2017.

I gotta say, that was kinda my reflex impression. I looked at the picture & figured they were all women. Sure looks like they all have fairly prominent chests, if you get my drift. Only reading the content corrected my impression. Not sure what that's all about, but it's no selling point for me.
