Printer

Postby Roseflamingo » Sat Mar 17, 2018 7:34 pm

Can anyone recommend a new printer? Mine has about had it after printing around 500 covers and same amount of discs. Mine still prints good but the images are not as crisp as they use to be (especially text). I've cleaned it and gone through all the alignment steps but to no avail. I would like to stay with an ink jet that prints directly onto discs and will accept A4 glossy or brochure paper if I can. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Rose.

I have not used an inkjet for many years. My last one was an Epson R800. Great printer but I don't know anything about current inkjet models.

I have an Epson Artisan 837 I'm happy with for covers and labels and general everyday printing. I use an Epson R1900 for good photos. It also does discs but the 837 is better for the discs.

I have an Epson WorkForce 545 all in one but doesn't do discs. I have a Canon MG5420 for disc printing.

No help here.

I have had a laser printer for a long time and just picked up a new Samsung about three months ago and could not be happier with the quality it produces.

I have never printed a disc or a disc label, for myself I have no need of them.

One constant in the suggestions/recommendations is Epson. All you have to decide is which one suits your needs and budget.

Been using CANON iP4850 for five years now with no problems .Good clear printing on all levels.BUT its all down to the media you use,bad paper=bad print, same with the blank discs.I always use VERBATIM. Hope this info helps. ;-)

My Glossy Verbatim discs print perfectly, I use a high quality glossy (HP) paper but yet the small print is still a bit hazy, slightly out of focus. I've done everything possible with the printer but still prints the same. Prints this way with all types of paper. I've printed so many covers with it its probably just wearing out. Thanks for the response though, still trying to find a quality printer without breaking the bank. The printer I'm using is a Cannon MX series, printed perfectly for 18 months or so but now it's slowly going down hill.

Thanks for the reply. ;-)

I've always used an Epson inkjet and had great result for labels and covers. I do print directly to the DVD, not stick on labels.
