The Duel is coming out this week August 23 on DVD/Blu-ray. It might be good with a decent cast, but it’s a western…

The Duel (2016)

In the town of Helena, nothing is what it seems to be. A charismatic man known as The Preacher has convinced his town that he may have supernatural powers. Meanwhile, the Texas ranger who's been dispatched to dispose of him has his own score to settle. The Preacher was responsible for his father's death. In this battle of wits and physical might, The Preacher and the ranger put everything they love on the line to defeat one another.

This is not really a western, it's just set in a western time period...

It's kind of odd really and due to "what it is" I can't say anything more than that without it being a spoiler!

I've found this to be the case with a lot of the recent westerns. Chewy is shorting herself with that anti-western obsession (& crickets).

I should have taken this last post more seriously and go with my first instinct, as this was not that great of a movie. It has a few good moments and the subject should have interested me, but it got too weird (there might be another word more suitable, but that's what hubby kept saying and it stuck in my head, lol). Even Liam Hemsworth could not save that movie. It's not the worst I've ever seen, but my ratings will not go very high on this one.
