This movie came out May 3rd on DVD/Blu-ray. I viewed it and enjoyed it quite a bit!

The 5th Wave (2016)

The 5th Wave is a 2016 American science fiction thriller film, directed by J Blakeson, with a screenplay by Susannah Grant, Akiva Goldsman, and Jeff Pinkner, based on the novel of the same name by Rick Yancey. It was released on January 22, 2016 in the United States by Columbia Pictures. It received negative reviews from critics, but was a moderate box-office success and has grossed more than $109 million worldwide.

Plot –

Invading aliens began attacking Earth in waves. There have been four waves of lethal attacks so far. Most of the world is dead, and Cassie doesn't know who she can trust. She has to stay alert if she's going to save her younger brother. He's counting on her. To survive, she'll have to trust someone. She can't do it alone. The fifth, and deadly, wave is about to hit and Cassie finds a young man that may help, but trusting him might be out of the question. She might have no other choice.

Watched this last night. It was kinda refreshing to see a scifi movie without a ton of mediocre CGI. It's a good flick. Not a great one, but entertaining, with enough action & drama to keep your attention. The ending was clearly left open to invite at least a sequel, though I can easily see this turning into a series. The possibilities are endless. If there's a sequel or a series spinoff, I'll be in.
