Underground (2016) – TV Series

Underground is an American television period drama series created by Misha Green and Joe Pokaski about the Underground Railroad in Antebellum Georgia. The show debuted March 9, 2016, on WGN America. On April 25, 2016 WGN America renewed the show for a 10-episode second season.

Series synopsis –

The 19th century was a difficult time to be a person of color in the southern United States. For one group of slaves on a Georgia plantation times are especially hard, and they set out to make their escape any way they can. Their escape includes a 600 mile trek, but the distance is the least of their problems as they gain the help of a pair of abolitionists running a stop on the Underground railroad and try to avoid capture or death by the people who want them back.
