This movie came out last week June 14 on DVD/Blu-ray. Looks really good with a great cast!

Regression (2016)

The film takes place in Minnesota, in 1990. Detective Bruce Kenner (Ethan Hawke) investigates the case of John Gray (David Dencik) who admits to sexually abusing his 17-year-old daughter, Angela (Emma Watson), after she gives a written complaint on him, but he has no recollection of the abuse. They seek the help of Professor Kenneth Raines (David Thewlis) to use an experimental technique to regain memories on John Gray and come to suspect that their colleague Detective George Nesbitt (Aaron Ashmore) is involved. They detain him but fail to find evidence against him. Detectives suspect a satanic cult is involved, based on the testimony of Angela, who says that she was abused by people in masks and someone took pictures of it.

Emma showed her very capable acting abilities in the Harry Potter series of films from an early age. Since then the films she's been in I can only describe as mediocre at best.

I'm hoping this one will be the turning point in her career. I hope she doesn't disappoint.

Well here I go.

I did watch it but the genre is not exactly my cup of tea. It's listed as a Crime, Drama, Thriller on IMDB but I would add semi - Horror, and I mean semi.

It has a mediocre rating on IMDB and I would agree with that purely due to it not being my type of film.

That said I would not knock the film just because of my tastes. I've seen a damn site worse acting, this wasn't too bad overall.

BTW as a young actor Emma Watson did quite well I thought and if she continues could and should become an accomplished artist. I imagine it's down to what guidance she gets and how good her agent is.

I would score it 5/10 purely as it's not my genre.

You're going to have to make your own mind up on this one I'm afraid.
