USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage is now playing in theaters. I liked most of Nicolas Cage’s movies and this one looks very good!

USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage (2016)

The USS Indianapolis had the grim mission of delivering the atomic weapons that would be dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. After dropping these bombs off, the men on this ship find themselves stranded in the Philippine Sea. Their mission was a secret, so there is no one on hand to rescue them. As food and water supplies run low, a more pressing problem emerges. Surrounding their ship are hundreds of sharks, and they begin to attack with relentless ferocity. By the time rescuers finally come, will there be anyone left to rescue from the clutches of these vicious sea creatures?

I don't know if I want to suffer through another film of people stranded in the ocean being hunted by sharks, but the cast is good & it should be a good film. I'll probably try it out. It does have historic value, after all.

I just checked it out Banks and this new movie seems like a remake of that older one from 1991. Same event anyway.

I just checked it out Banks and this new movie seems like a remake of that older one from 1991. Same event anyway.

It is the same story, simply done by others who have tried to do it in a new way. This is what happens with legendary historic events. They get retold & retold, each one thinking they can do it better. A sure sign they're out of ideas, though this new one looks like it should be reasonably watchable, even though everyone already knows the story. Heck, if you watched Jaws (1975) you already know the story. Robert Shaw pretty much told it all.
