Shapes

Postby bluesnow » Sun Apr 18, 2010 10:45 pm

I've done this before, but can't remember how I did it. I am creating a tutorial and I want to draw an elipse around an object in a picture to highlight it and point it out. I used the shape tool and somehow created the elipse with a red border/outline but a transparent centre so you could see the object underneath it. How did I do it???????? I can use the pencil or brush tool but it looks so tacky being jagged and irregular.

If you have created a Shape Layer then just change the fill percentage. That will make it transparent. Then add a stroke. By changing the fill % instead of the opacity it allows you to have a stroke at full opacity and the rest will be transparent. Hope that makes sense.
