i have a message to pass on was talking to digital and he as told me that custom covers as gone for good.spoken to pirate and he says he doesnt think it will ever return,so now there is no more rumours regarding the site .digital says sorry that it as come to this.but it is pirates choice to close the site.......i will miss agood set of friends on there as well as great covers.take care all... wayne

The rumours were true then, for the last three weeks I have been wondering whether to delete the link in my browser - I never did. 2 days ago when it came back I was happy..............now though. ..............link deleted.

I can't attest to the functioning of CustomCovers subscriptions, and I do not suggest here that there is anything underhanded going on, but I was once a member of a site who closed down just after I paid a years subscription via PayPal, the problem was that the subscription as still active even though the site had gone and the following year another payment was still there to be made. I had to stop it directly by doing it with PayPal. Might be worth looking in to if this is the way your sons sub was paid.

I am not sure if the payment would have worked as the site was no longer there but if the account was, it might have been. Like I said, I don't know how things work but it might be a good idea to see if it is a recurring payment.

Fp the owner and person who funded the site month after month year after year had no choice but to close the site, he lost his job and it wasnt making eno8ugh money to cover the server what everybody seems to have forgotten or maybe not been told is that even I after all the stuff there helped in trying to find a future owner for the database and somebody who could aford to continue it. First pirate was gutted to have to close but he just couldnt run it any more. He tried contacting ppl who had got subscriptions but couldnt get to everyone as not everyone gives the correct details!
